After 40 incredible years, we’re saying a heartfelt thank you and farewell to Callum Macinnes as he retires from Jans.
Callum has been a true cornerstone of the business — a steady, reliable presence whose loyalty and dedication have helped shape Jans into what it is today. Over four decades, he has witnessed enormous change and growth and played a vital role in that journey every step of the way.
Not one for the spotlight, Callum has been the quiet force behind the scenes — keeping the engine running, the wheels turning, and everything ticking along just as it should. The kind of person every business depends on, even if they’re not always front and centre.
He’ll be greatly missed by everyone here, especially his colleague Karen in the office, who has worked closely alongside him for many years.
We wish you a long, healthy and happy retirement — and hope you enjoy every moment of the camping adventures that lie ahead.

After many years of planning, it’s fantastic to finally see our new self-storage building on Leasgeary Road in Portree take shape! We’ve been offering self-storage using shipping containers for some time now, but this new facility is a big step forward — it will provide modern, high-quality storage units to better meet our customers' needs.
Recently we were proud to unveil our newly restored truck, V222.
A year ago, we faced a tough decision: retire her, or give her a new lease of life. We chose the latter. V222, which was purchased in 2005, has undergone a complete restoration, featuring a beautiful new paint job by Alan Dougan and a new custom-built body by PMH Coachbuilders. We completed the final touches in-house, and now she’s back — looking better than ever!
